Yes, darling, it's 3 cups plus three-quarters of a cup. Or, in other words, 3.75 cups. Or a little less than 4 cups.

3 3/4 is a shortcut, easy to not know exactly what it means. A lot of people will say 3 and 3/4 cups. That's better. It means 3 c + 3/4 c Good question

Ahh, your just a rookie cook is all. Yes, you have it right, that it is 3 cups with an additional 3/4ths cup. I am tempted to dump on you just how many half or 3/4 cups that would be, but I'll go light on you for now.

When you see a mixed number like that, imagine that there is a plus sign (+) in there. 3 3/4 = 3 + 3/4 3 3/4 cups is the same as (3 + 3/4) cups is the same as 3 cups + 3/4 of a cup With 8 ounces per cup, that is (3*8) + (3/4 of 8) = 24 + 6 = 30 ounces
